Experience
I am interested in tutoring (English or French) general reading/writing skills, academic writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and SAT prep to struggling students or to those who feel they want to expand their knowledge in these subjects. My passion is in the written word, and I'd like to share what comes naturally to me with those who have a little more trouble. In college, I focused on sharpening my reading and writing skills through literature classes and workshops, and wrote and edited for UCSB's campus newspaper, the Daily Nexus. Additionally, I studied abroad in Lyon, France for a nine months, where I was immersed in French-speaking university. During my time there, I tutored and nannied for a French family (children aged 2 and 4) who were learning to speak English. I am currently a part-time copy editor at Issue Magazine in Los Angeles. My creative writing has appeared in Into the Teeth of the Wind. Cumulative SAT: 2170 (English 730, Math 710, Writing 730) AP Scores: 5 in English Language, English Literature, Comparative Government, & U.S. History 4 in Statistics and in French Language
